Loretta Willow, a magical little hedgehog and usually law abiding member of the welkish tribe, one day breaks the first rule of Hedgehoggery: she meets a human. Against all the rules of her people, they secretly meet up, and become great friends. Her rule-breaking has not gone un-noticed though and she is to attend a meeting, to learn of her fate. After her village comes under attack though, it is up to Loretta to use all the magic she has learned from her Grandmother, the Wise Woman, to save her people. All the creatures of the forest become involved to help Loretta in her plight. Can she and Alfred save the Welk tribe?
