Paul Krugman is one of the world's leading economists. He has served on the President's Council of Economic Advisors and is currently a professor of economics at Stanford University. In recognition of his research on international trade and finance, in 1991 the American Economic Association gave him its John Bates Clark medal, an award given every two years to the best American economist under 40. He has written numerous books for both academic audiences and the broader public, and delivers lectures around the world.
