Recenzii
"I count myself hugely fortunate to have been aboard the Yavari. The combination of this beautiful boat and the clear blue waters of Lake Titicaca are irresistible as Meriel discovered long before I did. Thanks to her persistence and her ability to win friends the Yavari has been saved for us all to enjoy. This is a great love story and a fine example to all those who care about preservation and conservation" - Michael Palin "The Duke of Edinburgh has written the foreword to Meriel's gripping and inspiring tale...I found myself leading a three-cheers for Meriel Larken...What a woman, What a story" - Matthew Parris, The Times "This account of her passion makes stirring reading, even for those of us whose hearts do not leap at the mention of the Bolinder 4-cyliner engine." Daily Mail "Two iron ladies in the Andes: The Ship, The Lady and the Lake is a gripping tale, a personal adventure and an inspiring story of what single-minded dedication can achieve - a lovely piece of writing, lively and imaginative in style." - The Spectator "Meriel Larken's vivid account of finding Yavari on the Lake, how she unearthed the ship's extraordinary history, and then set about restoring her to her former glory against all the odds." - World Ship Review
