The Sinews of War: Army Logistics, 1775-1953: Army Historical
Autor James A. Hiuston Editat de Center of Military History (U.S. Army)en Limba Engleză Hardback – 30 dec 1997 – vârsta de la 18 până la 95 ani
Logistics is a subject which few people, including professional soldiers, have thoroughly understood. Yet logistics must support both tactical operations and the day-to-day life of the Army in the same way that a well-run household supports the people who live in it.
Professor Huston, who has served in tactical units in wartime and has studied logistics in both war and peace, as a military man and a civilian has prepared a clear and comprehensive history of U.S. Army logistics from the time of the American Revolution through the Korean War. He shows the role of all aspects of logistics –supply; transportation; evacuation; and hospitalization; and service – in peace, and in war, and in systematic fashion traces the development of the Army’s logistical system.
The Sinews of War is offered to professional military men in all the armed services, and to thoughtful students of problems of national defense, as an essential contribution to their education.
