The Space Between Us
Autor Zoya Pirzad Traducere de Amy Motlaghen Limba Engleză Hardback – 25 mar 2014
Cementing her reputation as one of the most brilliant interpreters of the Iranian soul, novelist Zoya Pirzad offers a heartbreaking and tender story of a family haunted by separations. Edmond lives a quiet, respectable life, a stalwart of his Christian Armenian community. But when his daughter falls in love with a Muslim man, the scandal spreads like wildfire and Edmond is forced to choose between family and the expectations and prejudices of others. He makes his choice, but only time will reveal the true cost. Evoking Vikram Seth’s A Suitable Boy with its tapestry of hidden intimacies and social pressures, The Space Between Us weaves a poignant tale of human fallibility and grace.

Recenzii
'Rich in allusion and suggestion. The prize-winning Iranian Armenian author is less concerned with a straightforward narrative as with the desire to encapsulate the important things which are left unsaid and undone. These are what haunt her story.' - Daily Mail
‘A rising star of Iranian literature, Zoya Pirzad transcends the everyday with her luminous writing’— Elle
‘Pirzad writes with wit and precision' — New Internationalist on Things We Left Unsaid
'Readers will appreciate Pirzad's focus on more universal issues as she highlights Iranian-Armenian women's struggles towards equality...Pirzad's detailed novel, accompanied by a helpful glossary, illuminates the decade, setting and culture.' — Booklis on Things We Left Unsaid
'The sparked imagination for both characters and reader is beautiful, but it is truly the things Pirzad leaves unsaid that make this book so good.' — Austin Chronicle on Things We Left Unsaid
