In Tel Aviv, U.S. Navy Commander Alan Craik agrees to look into the death of a former Navy employee. What should have been a routine investigation quickly becomes something very ugly: nominal American allies in Israel withhold or alter information; colleagues at home initiate their own operation to satisfy the political needs of Washington; a wife betrays her husband; and soon deceit and distrust prove to be the only common denominator.
