The Spouse is a fictious narration portraying a life-cycle of a marriage institution. Courtship is alluded at after adolescence crisis as the main characters; Mokonga and Boni swirl in a monument of challenges that in turn shape their marriage. The backbone of the novel is the social dimension of couples' cheating on one another. The narration ends dramatically with a surprise that both of them had been living a lie.
