Brothers Paul and David Ambrose leave the toil of everyday life and head west, finding a place to call home against the light and sparkling waters of the Elizabeth River, surrounded by the dark and threatening woods of St. George's Valley. With their friends, they conquer the peaks of adventure and navigate the black waters of tragedy, as they learn and finally accept the harsh terms of life in the valley.
