The Story of a Sunday's Child

When a genetic condition meets an addiction, life becomes difficult for a middle class mid-western girl. "The Story Of A Sunday's Child" is the true story of such an encounter. After becoming a young adult Stevie finds that her learning problems and physical traces on her body are the result of a genetic condition called Neurofibromatosis. When Stevie tells her fiancee about her problems she expects to be rejected but instead he is sympathetic. Unfortunately he turns out to be a high functioning alcoholic. Stevie watches helplessly as her marriage and her appearance become increasingly influenced by these two factors. It's the story of learning to live with something that cannot be changed; then finding the courage to leave a marriage gone aground on alcoholism. Nothing is sugar coated. Stevie's story is bluntly honest. It is not a "how I learned to live with" type of book. Many questions remain unresolved at the end of the narrative.
