The Strains were a prominent family in Greencastle Indiana in the early years of the 20th Century. When the US entered the First World War, three of the nine siblings, Fred, Evan and Jim joined to serve their country. This is their story as told in the many letters they sent home to their family. Interspersed with pictures of the central characters and their families, reproductions of holiday programs, and 64 postcards of towns and attractions in France, this volume will be of interest to historians, veterans, and the thousands of Strain family members scattered across the country.
