The Tales of Fatman's Brother

Autor Peter Ebard
en Limba Engleză Paperback
By the age of thirteen Peter had spent half of his life in Singapore.
It was the mid 1960's and political unrest in the Far East had bubbled over into confrontation, race riots, and distrust of the colonial British. Conversely, at the same time, the children of the British armed forces, stationed throughout Singapore, experienced a scale of freedom, and lack of restrictions, that would not be tolerated by parents today. This led to a time of colourful adventures and new experiences for the children, within the exhilarating and exciting atmosphere of the Orient.
Peter's early years had been spent in sibling rivalry with his wilful and mischievous older brother, Graham. They fought over everything, the bigger brother always winning. The only thing they did share was their bedroom. But as Peter's age turned into double figures he became aware of the twofold existence of his brother.
With his parents, Graham remained badly behaved and defiant, and often a bully to his younger brother, but outside the home he built up a reputation as a rebel. Amongst his peers he became known as someone to be admired and even emulated.
Had it stopped there it may have been possible for Peter to grow and develop as an individual, but the far reaching renown, and growing physical size of his older brother, permeated through Peter's very existence. It infected his friends and his life to such a degree, that he ceased to be Peter. He was Fatman's brother.
