Jewish-American real estate billionaire and philanthropist David Tanner is kidnapped in Israel. The kidnappers are led by an idealistic Arab college professor attempting to gain recognition for his political aspirations and vision of a new direction for the Palestinian people. Israeli National Police Force Inspector, Abe Levin, is assigned to lead the search and the U.S. government pressures the Israelis to add David's son, Bruce, a U.S. Navy Seal to the team. Almost before authorities have any leads a tragic accident leaves the kidnappers leaderless. The remaining kidnappers, motivated only by greed and with authorities hot on their trail, frantically search for a safe haven. Desperate to elude capture, they solicit the assistance of an infamous Bedouin smuggler tied to a notorious Russian international arms dealer. Led by their new collaborators they dash across Israel and disappear into the Negev Desert. Just as the trail appears to go cold, an unusual Vatican resource emerges proposing a unique but perilous solution. As this harrowing pursuit races across the Holy Land, the region's complicated and often confusing political, religious and social realities are exposed blurring the boundaries between the "good and bad guys."
