The Tragic Tricketts

This family history book focusses on my Trickett family who lived in or around Bradfield and Sheffield, Yorkshire in the 18th and 19th Centuries. Some were dairy farmers with a few cattle and others worked in the nearby growing industrial town.

The word 'Tragic' in the book's title sums up their lives. Few lived for 'three score years and ten' and the most frequent causes of death were various strains of tuberculosis and industrial diseases. One Trickett family was wiped out in March 1864 when a dam burst at Bradfield and swept over 200 people to their deaths.
