The Transformational Leader

Autor Brinkley, Dr Levonder P.
en Limba Engleză Paperback
This work is about the Transformation Agenda of Nigeria's President Goodluck Elebe Jonathan. What this administration has failed to do is blow it's own horns or loudly tout their achievements, large and small. But this does not align with the personality of our current truly civilian President, unaffiliated to the military since President Shagari. People have criticized President Jonathan for not being like previous blustery, obnoxious and ruthless military henchmen. They think he is not addressing instability and insecurity in the country because he has not sent soldiers to troubled regions to "wipe everyone out." Nigerians are accustomed to military leaders who wipe out people and whole communities, rather than engage in constructive dialogues. President Jonathan is not disposed to draconian, undemocratic measures to solve problems within its borders. Previous leaders who wiped out whole communities merely postponed the issues, only to have them re-emerge in different forms, perhaps from different regions. His administration recalibrated the economy to ensure that Nigeria's place in the global economic stage is recognized, which now attracts increased investments. President Jonathan has been accused of being slow to address the Boko Haram issue. As President he is responsible for everything that happens in the country, but Presidents rely on security experts and law enforcement personnel tasked with ensuring the country's safety and security. Detractors cry that he has not visited Chibok to meet families of kidnapped girls. I contend that going to Chibok would have not freed a single girl; in fact going to Chibok will only be theatrical and might embolden the kidnappers, affirming that the President's presence imbues certain cache and legitimacy to their diabolic aim to de-stabilize the country. International allies with vanguard technologies and satellites are yet to unearth the whereabouts of the kidnapped girls. President Goodluck Jonathan has repeatedly affirmed his commitment to find and free the Chibok girls, but his detractors fail to hear or believe him. In this work Dr. Brinkley speaks of her Vision for Nigeria as a fully developed nation and highlights some of President Jonathan's many accomplishments that are moving our nation towards a stabilized developed country, with absolute security and peace among all Nigerians regardless of Tribal or religious affiliation.
