Terry is a bankrupt entrepreneur with an unfailingly positive attitude to life and his own potential. He has three children from his recent divorce and is determined to be a hero figure in their eyes. He is well educated, intelligent, competitive and resourceful and prepared to go to any lengths to achieve financial and social success, even if he must resort to criminal means and assume the identity of someone else. Henrietta is a middle aged, middle class, divorced Interior Designer who lives a comfortable but lonely life in an idyllic Derbyshire village with her young son. Her quiet life changes dramatically when she meets the perfect salesman and becomes ensnared in an abusive relationship. She is forced into the macho terrors of the Costa del Sol underworld and must face either financial and psychological ruin or the cynicism of the police and the mercy of the legal system.
