Noted architect and urban planner Peter Cookson Smith was one of the first specialists involved in planning, urban design, and landscape consultancies in Southeast Asia. He is currently a visiting scholar at the Centre of Asian Studies, the University of Hong Kong, and is vice president of the Hong Kong Institute of Planners and the Hong Kong Institute of Urban Design.

Peter Cookson Smith: Architect, planner and urban designer, is a director of URBIS, the firm he founded in Hong Kong in 1977 – one of the first specialist planning, environmental, landscape and urban design consultancies in Asia. He is an Honorary Professor at the Department of Architecture, University of Hong Kong.
