H.G. Wells was one of the greatest writers of the 20th century. Wells was a prolific author in many genres including history, politics, and social commentary, but it is his science fiction novels that he is best remembered for. Classics such as The Time Machine, The Island of Doctor Moreau, The Invisible Man, and The War of the Worlds earned Wells the nomination for the Nobel Prize on four different occasions. The War That Will End War, published in 1914, is a book Wells wrote after the outbreak of World War I. Wells believed it would be the last war humanity would fight.
