The Worry: Wise for my Size, cartea 1

Autor Lorna Davies, Jac McGill
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 10 aug 2019
The Worry was written to coach children who can feel worried or anxious, learn how to find courage, confidence, and curiosity so that they can handle any worries in their lives. We believe that when children are given access to HOW their mind works and learn that they can change their internal world, transformation is inevitable. Consider this book if, as a parent, you have concerns that your child is showing physical symptoms (sore head, sore tummy, change in sleep pattern), emotional symptoms (crying, sadness, anger, frustration, withdrawn, feeling scared), and/or behavioural symptoms (avoiding situations, not talking about their worries) What your child may be saying/doing; "I don't know what to do!" "I feel sick/I have a sore tummy." "My head hurts!" "What if it is rubbish?" "What if I hate it?" "What if I fail?" ¿¿Wise for My Size, The Worry, is part of a wider coaching programme for parents and children. It is a powerful, empowering programme that teaches children essential life skills through activities, games, and stories. The Wise for My Size programme helps young people to develop soaring self-esteem, and strong self-confidence, achieve their goals, manage mistakes, handle stress and anxiety, build resilience, and deal with peer pressure. The Worry is written to help children who worry learn how to find courage, confidence & curiosity and learn that they can handle any worries in their lives.

Notă biografică

Lorna is a children's Occupational Therapist and life coach; she lives with her family and two dogs in the West Coast of Scotland. Through her work, and as a mother of two children Lorna became aware of the importance of mindset when children face adversity and challenge; it's the key ingredient to success. As an occupational therapist Lorna works with the medium of play and fun as the principal 'occupation' of childhood, and this leads very naturally to developing a programme that uses stories, games and activities to teach valuable life skills to children and those young at heart.
