There Will Be Wars is part of Verses at an Exhibition, a series of poetry anthologies that encourages readers to examine poetry in a similar way that viewers at an exhibition of art examine paintings and drawings. Some of the titles in this series are collections of poetry of authors around the world; other titles are exclusive to single authors. There Will Be Wars examines conflicts we encounter based on internal or family situations as well as the conflicts we face on broader scales, in the community, in society, and across cultures, and even conflicts imposed upon us by governments and those who seek to lead us toward some end.We may choose to submit to the conflicts or we may choose to overcome the problems associated with the conflicts. Sometimes we have little or no choice but to endure or die in the attempt to endure. This collection of poetry authored by Nancy Riecken examines particular personal, family, and social conflicts from a variety of perspectives. Readers will recognize some of these conflicts as similar to their own. How shall they end those conflicts? Riecken asks them to consider the perspectives presented in order to construct a response appropriate to each reader's environment.
