Three Years Dreaming may the only book of its kind. It's a bit off-beat, a three-year memoir told entirely in dreams. It began with keeping a dream journal for personal reflection and artistic inspiration. It led to a series of nine paintings based on dreams, and more than a handful of poems. After a time, I started looking at the dreams like stories: odd little narratives where things transform into other things, points of view change, and the impossible becomes commonplace.
The result is an utterly candid and extremely intimate record of things that never happened. True, there are recurring themes and characters. The dream world follows its own logic, and the dreaming mind works on the same problem from different angles over time. There's also a page so personal that the entire thing is redacted, blacked-out text. And at the end, when it ends the only way a dream really can, you may feel like you took a very surreal but emotionally intense journey.

That night, you go to sleep.
You enter the house of endless rooms. You get lost at first, but finally stumble into the hallway you seek. There, in the wall, you see the door to the basement.
The door shuts behind you as you walk down the stone stairs. A fire burns brightly in a fireplace, heating an iron cauldron. You have no trouble finding your way around the basement this time. Here it is. Right here on this table: the book.
As you pick it up, you remember how many times you looked for it, over and over, in other dreams. Here it was, all along. Its pages contain three years of your dream memories. All those secrets you learned. All those adventures you forgot about the next day.
