Tiger's life is changed forever as she becomes inescapably involved with the intrigues of the Fairy world. Bob and Freya's child called Benjamin is stolenfrom Tiger's household. With fierce determination, Tigers hunts down the intruding kidnappers and follows them back through the break in the Veil to the Fairy world. Tiger discovers this magical world is on the brink of destruction heralded by the death of the old King Oberon. Without a new King the Fairy world will quickly perish and soon after the mortal world would suffer too. Benjamin was stolen to replace the King because of his unique Heritage. As a half human half fairy, Benjamin is the only available candidate. Tiger isgiven the responsibility of deciding the fate of two worlds. She decides to allow the baby to become the new King but in exchange asks that a Fairyvolunteer to be permanently changed into the form of the baby with no memory of his past. The changeling baby would then go back with her so that the parents would not have to live a life of grief at the loss of a child. The Queen Eeowinagrees to the proposal and an exchange is made.
