Time to ACT America: A Potential Fall from Democracy

Autor Marion Minke, Rosetta Jackson
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 27 aug 2012
Time to Act America opens a discussion on the important issues of the election process and the critical role of the voter. The authors challenge and explore some of the 2012 campaigns' political rhetoric, antics and underlying reasons for voter's beliefs. The book shows the contrasting political platforms of both Parties, listing the governing accomplishments (or not) over the last four years. The authors acknowledge the continued evolution of our democracy and how 'We the People' must sustain our legacy so that we avoid a fall from 'America the Beautiful to America the Sweatshop'. The book's themes include: how the two Parties govern, securing a historical baseline, transparency in our politics, the media and how they matter, the religious right and the GOP, the ongoing race battle, and most importantly a call to unity - the core message of this book. We hope to engage you in this discussion and are most concerned about the fading Middle Class. Unfortunately we've allowed our legislators to pass 'right-to-work' laws, union busting, outsourcing leading to lower wage jobs or no jobs, and dictatorial takeovers of our cities. We also seem to be fighting for the same civil rights we won years ago as the politicians prostitute themselves to the beat of monetary gain.Remember, elections have consequences; it is Time to Act America!
