Recenzii

Notwithstanding its clear and light writing style, the book successfully develops a systematic analysis of trade mark law...a solid and valuable contribution to any legal library, while remaining an unusually entertaining read.
Jeremy Phillips is one of the most delightful writers on intellectual property ... Trade Mark Law: A Practical Anatomy is exciting, provides deep insight in to the intellectual property involved and makes you understand at a profound level why some basic questions of trademark law remain uncertain ... it will be a useful addition to any legal library and to any company to which brands are important.
A trademark law book that is stylish, witty, literate, insightful and peppered with snippets of fiction and poetry ... Professor Phillips's book is an elegant, British, one-of-a-kind trademark law tour de force that spans continents and questions shibboleths, yet still lays out a succinct treatment of the underlying principles and procedures. It will be appreciated by constituencies ranging from law students, lawyers and judges to those with an active curiosity as to how and why trademarks operate in modern international commerce.
Apart from its considerable entertainment value, the book is indeed an authoritative treatment of trademark law worldwide. It provides answers, especially to questions of how other jurisdictions look at trademark law principles, references to current trademark law literature, and a wealth of other well-organized and well-written trademark law information. It will surely become a useful intellectual property law library addition. I also see it as a worthy present for either the befuddled novice or the trademark cognoscente.
... a highly readable starter on trade mark law ... It is an absolute pleasure to read as it progresses very gradually, and seems to read like a fine piece of fiction ... a great addition which is written well enough to enthuse where others confuse.
I cannot recommend it highly enough as a point of learning for trainees. The extensive references mean that there is the potential for the book to be a valuable guide even when the text has been read many times. Unlike other academic works it is welcoming - as if being tutored by a wise old grandfather rather than a stern aunt - and it appears to have been written with practice in mind ... It could quite easily take pride of place at every practice and stands out as having the content and style to reverse the stranglehold of Kerly.
... one of those learned books that are a joy to browse and read.
