Notă biografică

George Dominic Catalano retired as Professor Emeritus of Biomedical Engineering at Binghamton University in 2019. Dr. Catalano was appointed a SUNY Distinguished Service Professor in 2018 for his many contributions to the university, and to the engineering profession. He earned a Doctor of Philosophy and a Master of Science degrees in aerospace engineering from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor of Science degree also in aerospace engineering from Louisiana State University. Prior to his time at Binghamton University, Dr. Catalano served on the faculty of the United States Military Academy, Louisiana State University, Wright State University, and the United States Air Force Institute of Technology. In addition, he was selected as a Fulbright Scholar at the Polytechnic Institute in Turin, Italy and the Technical Institute in Erlangen, Germany. Dr. Catalano also served on active duty as an officer in the USAF from 1973-1981. His research interests include turbulent fluid mechanics, low- and high-speed aerodynamics, experimental methods in physics, engineering education, engineering design, and engineering and environmental ethics. Dr. Catalano has more than 200 technical and educational publications and is listed in the Philosopher’s Index for his published works in animal rights.
