Trail Ride by the Yadkin River

en Limba Engleză Paperback
When Vanda Mae Foxe's cherished mare takes sick and dies, she leaves a huge hole in the sixteen-year-old girl's heart. Thankfully, her daddy's expansive North Carolina horse farm has plenty of room for a new favorite, and her next-door-neighbor, Willy Jo Winthrop, offers to sell Vanda Mae the perfect horse for her. However, Willy Jo's father insists on selling the horse to an unsavory character instead. A dispute erupts, and Willy Jo gets kicked off the family farm he loves. He takes refuge with the Foxe family and his friendship with Vanda Mae prospers as they ride beside the Yadkin River. But horse trouble trails him. Can Willy Jo solve the horse problems, reconcile with his family, and win Vanda Mae's affection as well?

She began penning novels in 1982 while working full time for an electronics company in Grand Rapids. She resigned in 1984 following a contract offer for her first book. Since then, she has written several romance novels for various publishers, including Thomas Nelson Publishers, Zondervan Publishing House, Guideposts, and Bigwater Publishing LLC. Her nonfiction writing has been published by Chalfont House. Her husband, Fred, an American History teacher, shares her enthusiasm for history. Together, they visit historical sites, restored villages, museums, and lake ports, purchasing books and reference materials and taking photos. Donna has lived all of her life in states bordering on the Great Lakes. Her familiarity and fascination with these remarkable inland waters and her residence in the heart of Great Lakes Country provide the perfect background for writing Great Lakes Romances(R).
