Trans*Visit

Martin Bichsel is a freelance photographer who lives in Bern. He was born in 1973 and grew up in the Emmental region in the Bernese Mittelland. In 2000 he completed his GaF (Gruppe autodidaktischer Fotografen - self-taught photography group) training and since then he has been working primarily in the editorial sector. Aside from his commissioned work, Bichsel continuously devotes his attention to his own artistic projects. His work also includes the "flüchtig" (fugitive) exhibition, which consists of portraits of asylum seekers in Bern and was put on display in 2014 at the «Heitere Fahne» cultural centre in Wabern and in "Le Cap" in the French church in Bern. Martin Bichsel is always exploring taboo aspects of society, building bridges in the process. Bichsel is also a part of the "rueckenlage" cross-discipline collective and works at the PROGR cultural centre in Bern.
