Transitivity Alternations in Diachrony: Changes in Argument Structure and Voice Morphology

Autor Nikolaos Lavidas
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 31 ian 2010
Offers an approach to the theory of change in argument structure and voice morphology. This book investigates the diachrony of transitivity, and the changes in causative verbs and transitivity alternations. It shows that causativisations are the result of reanalysis of intransitive verbs as transitive on the basis of the linguistic cue of case.
