Translations is an affirmative poetic history of America, spanning the years from our prehistory to the present. The ten sets of poems are arranged in pairs which are meant to both complement, contrast, and complete each other as American history often has. But over all they are meant to capture the beauty, the complexity and the vibrancy of the American spirit.
