Possessing clues to the treasure's location contained in his father's binder, Graham Rivers searches Elk Mountain to find out what happened. Concerned for his father's disappearance, Graham enlists the assistance of Lance Rayburn, a local helicopter pilot that develops an interest in Graham's affairs. When two young men are attacked in the mountains, Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge Intern Sarah Hawks also employs Lance in the aerial search for one of the missing boys. Soon, Lance must choose between leaving for his career pursuits or becoming more involved with Graham and Sarah. When the binder falls into the wrong hands, Graham and Sarah become outnumbered and outgunned as they race to find the treasure and discover that there was far more to the legend than was ever revealed.
