Notă biografică

With 32-years experience in Emergency Medicine, the premise for my stories often arises from my medical knowledge. In my latest novel, Tujunga, I developed a very credible conspiracy that challenges two separate love stories, which become intertwined by their efforts to resolve personal conflicts. In this book, I incorporated a conspiratorial manner that has been compared to that of Dan Brown. As the third son of a divorced woman who raised five successful children in a foreign land, I often instill on my female protoganists the strengths I admired of my mother. Only recently did I realize the influence of her love for the drama in Mexican telenovelas: it is my common thread to many contemporary "Hispanic" authors (generically, I've termed it vivid romantic realism - in the fashion of Carlos Ruiz Zafon). For my love of adventure, I have done much international travel, and these multicultural experiences have provided me with a rich assortment of backdrops for my stories. In Tujunga, my characters travel from the San Fernando Valley to the California high desert, and cross-country to The Hamptons in Virginia. A second journey tracks from The Gambia in Africa to the far side of the moon. I aspire for the scene setting of Ernest Hemingway. Happily retired, I now live in southern Florida with my life-partner.
