Turn of Events

Jessie Laing and Erin Vince are best friends-despite growing up worlds apart. Jessie's family is stable, her parents loving and supportive, while Erin's family life is a chaotic mess that's left her mistrustful and scarred. Erin has Jessie, though, and in the topsy-turvy world of high school, sometimes a best friend is all you need.

The girls' close friendship is tested when Erin falls for new guy Ryan Hanley. The handsome, wealthy transfer student captures Erin's heart in a way no one else has. And when things go awry, it's Jessie who is there to pick up the pieces.

Once the girls reach college, their relationship undergoes further strain as more young men capture their hearts, vie for their affections, and even wedge themselves in the cracks of the girls' relationship. And through it all, Jessie faithfully tries to protect her fragile friend Erin from the emotional consequences of her decisions.

As the girls grow into young women, they each make choices with profound consequences for their own lives, the lives of the men they date, and the future of their friendship.
