Turning the Tide

Autor Jane Ng'ang'a
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 2 mai 2012
HIV and AIDS has continued to be a challenge to millions of people through out the world. A number of interventions have been undertaken by different players, including faith communities. However, Stigma, Shame, Discrimination, Denial, Inaction, and Misaction(SSDDIM) has continued to hinder access to HIV services. Faith communities remain strategically place to change this tide due to their influence in society. This book evaluates the role of faith communities in combating Stigma, Shame, Discrimination, Denial, Inaction, and Misaction(SSDDIM). A review of existing works on this subject has been undertaken, and recommendations on practical steps for dealing with the challenge given. This work will make a positive contribution in the work of faith communities, and in particular faith leaders in providing leadership in HIV prevention, and access to other essential HIV services.
