Turtle Rock Summer is a novel of love and loss. Set in a small Maine seacoast town during the nineteen forties, it is based on a tragic event in the life of a happy, close-knit family. Gina is the young girl at the center of the book, observing how a senseless accident can change everyone she is close to, and most of all herself. Others reveal many secrets in telling their own parts of the story, and how they managed to go on after such a loss, helped by their bond with the land and sea, and a continuing belief in love.
