Notă biografică
Marianne Ambrose (Marianne of Waikiki) is a creative sign language entertainer and artist who uses puppetry and American Sign Language to entertain hearing-impaired audiences. She holds a BS in Communication Disorders/Audiology from Central Michigan University and attended Interpreter's Training at Lansing Community College. For five years, she taught sign language classes and was a case manager for deaf and mentally ill adults. In 2007, Marianne moved to Honolulu and developed her own unique genre of Sign Language Puppet Theatre Musicals which combine music, puppetry and storytelling. Her "Rabbit Acts of Kindness" show brings the important message of non-violence, no bullying, and acceptance to the youth of Hawaii. She works with the Folkmanis(R) line of puppets which feature her signature Da Kind Signing Puppets. Marianne's playful nature can awaken the inner child in all ages. She currently offers puppetry events at the Waikiki Aquarium and Sea Life Park to entertain and educate children and adults about marine life and ocean issues. Marianne has dealt with her own hearing loss challenge, which resulted from a car accident. She has since recovered and is more passionate than ever about bringing her "Acts of Kindness Divine Messages" of peace, love, happiness and thanks to audiences across the globe. In addition to raising awareness about cleaning up the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, a further goal of this project is to build a beautiful aquarium as a lasting gift to a local children's hospital. She lives on a sailboat in the Hawaiian Islands where she finds inspiration from the ocean waters that surround her. As a sign language interpreter Marianne donates her services to Unity Church of Hawaii, and to Mr. Scott (a deaf healer) and his white Pomeranian Service Dog Woofy. She is a reiki master, an angel intuitive, and a practitioner of Divine Light Transmission through Sukyo Mahikari.
