Union of the Crowns is an illustrated prose book that sprung from a desire to reflect worlds that rarely cross, becoming entwined. In combat, in love, bonds are built to withstand hardship. But, there are always casualties and pain... The author, Alex Ness, was inspired by an idea from the artist, Ed Quinby, to write a story of love in the tradition of Tristan and Isolde, The King of Elfland's Daughter, and the world of Tolkien. The result is a short story that is familiar, but new at the same time.
