The book helps illuminate some of the myths and biases that cloud our ability to see these problems clearly, hoping to improve the quality of our national debate. Each is a real human being. Where we go wrong from the very start is to frame this discussion in terms of pejoratives - boxing each other in with labels, or by reducing human lives to statistics and thereby missing the point entirely. Statistics and gun capacities have their place, but first and foremost come people. This book is a labor of love - 100% of my proceeds go to the charity Cure Violence. Therefore, my only motivation is to 'get it out there'.
