Ioana Andreia Sandru a dat nota:
Utsubora is a complex, graphic and unsettling story about authorship which left me wanting more. I admit, there were parts that did confused me and I hope reading it again will help fix that. For me, this makes Utsubora better, because the more I will read it, the more I'll emerge into the given setting and have a better understanding of the timeline and of what really went on. The art work is really unique. It took me a while to get used to it, despite being familiar with the mangaka's other work, Classmates. However, it's pleasant and it makes the manga stand out more. Just looking at the art style, you can easily tell who is the artist behind it.
