Steve Van Carlton runs an honest shop. He owns a private detective agency on Sunset Boulevard and he has been hired to find the Burgundy Diamond. A local theft quickly becomes an international search for the missing jewel. From Los Angeles to Paris to Amsterdam, Van Carlton is lead in search of the Burgundy Diamond.
