David Mason reviews the work and lives of writers who traveled, emigrated, or were exiled, who shaped the literature of their homelands. He explores the ways literary voices can be formed by a specific place or rise from a lifetime of travel—and how place can be captured by a voice and presented through literature.
David Mason is the author of numerous books of poetry, most recently Sea Salt and Davey McGravy; a memoir, News from the Village; and a novel, Ludlow. A former Fulbright fellow to Greece, he lives in Colorado and Oregon and teaches at Colorado College.
