Walked Through Storm to You: Love Sonnets
Autor Roger Armbrusten Limba Engleză Paperback – 30 apr 2022 – vârsta ani
In this book of 126 sonnets, the poet invites us to walk with him as his creative sense takes us through every mood of nature on earth, and to the universe beyond. Imagery’s connections turn hearing 2 a.m. rain into Hemingway’s and James Dickey’s typewriter keys, leading the poet to write. Each poem seems to meld us to relationships.

Extras
In “Walked Through Storm to You”, the protagonist, facing a blizzard, envisions himself airborne:
…I rise, fend off sleet and stark flakes,
sail over stalled highways, pearl-flocked forests,
darkened villages and mist-frozen lakes,
easing down at your front door…
In “Anatomy” he tells the lover
…how I focus eyes
on your eyes as you focus on stark dawn
of honest words. Or how your smile implies
you’re pleased to see me. I dissect every
motion, every pause. That’s what poets do.
