Wallwave the Sea Prince: Adventures of War Queens and Battle Heroes

en Limba Engleză Paperback – 24 aug 2012
In the days before written history, clues to everyday events can be found of the existence of a chariot-based civilization in the Western Plains of Russia and Mongolia. This points to a way of life based on chariots, horses and bronze-age weapons. These clues include aerial sites, chariots, jewelry, swords and axes. Evidently the charioteers lived, died and were buried in a horse-based way of life that was more advanced in terms of chariots that had been developed up to that time. This civilization had apparently covered much of the Asian and the Chinese as well as the Russian Western Plains. It was a pre-Celtic way of life. We do not know the name of the tribes or what language they spoke. The islands and rivers had not yet been taken over by Vikings, as happened later. How did a pre-Viking and pre-Celtic civilization develop into the later domination of the Vikings which was spread throughout eastern Europe and western Asia and Russia? Obviously, pre-Gaelic and pre-Viking legends and myth need to be consulted. The longboats of war as well as chariots play a powerful part in these adventures. In those days the warrior queens as well as heroic Vikings played a large part. The latter-day wars organized by Queen Bodicea of Britain who drove the Romans out of the British Isles; Queen Maeve of Connaught who led the united armies of Ireland against Ulster were similarly heroic figures. These warrior queens were field-marshals and planners of war as well as chariot warriors. Perhaps the last of this line was Saint Joan of Arc. In WALLWAVE THE SEA PRINCE he builds up his armies of ships with the help of his War Queen Whitehair to defend his realm against the plots and plans for invasion laid out by the wicked War Queen Snakeknife.

Notă biografică

Sam Drew Carson was born in the North of Ireland and educated there at Wellington College and the Ulster Polytechnic. He completed his education in the USA at New Mexico Highlands University and the University of Arkansas. He has traveled widely in Europe, around the Atlantic and in North America. Carson worked as a seaman and fish-gutter in Vestmannaeyjar off the coast of Iceland. He has lived and worked in the Irish and Western Isles Gaeltachts and was married in Welsh-speaking Carmarthen after which he honeymooned in Belfast. He has told his stories, composed and sung his songs, seeking storylines in Bristol and the English Westcountry. Carson has also lived and written in Nashville, Tennessee, in the wooded hills of Mid-America and from the Appalachians to the Ozarks. This was the culture that gave rise to the now worldwide Scotch-Irish country music. In the USA, he has also worked beside the bayous of the French-speaking Cajuns in the South and among the Western Spanish-speaking Navajos, Apaches and Pueblos of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in New Mexico. Carson has sailed far into the seas of old Gaelic and Oriental legend. After many years searching for inspiration for story and music, the author is still traveling and writing.
