Well, Butter My Butt & Call Me a Biscuit

Autor Lori Plegge
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 26 sep 2015
This cookbook has 6 generations of good ole southern family recipes as well as some fun ones. There are around 600 recipes in this book. You will find anything from purple hull peas to jalapeno cornbread, chocolate pie to frog legs, Dutch oven recipes to gifts in a jar, roadkill to potato soup. There is such a wide variety, you've got a lot recipes to choose from. I wrote this cookbook to share with others the delicious foods we grew up on and have passed on to our children. These recipes bring back childhood memories when our families would get together and have home cooked meals. Now a days, people don't want to cook from scratch because it is so much easier to just go out and get fast food. I miss the days of home cooked meals. I hope these meals put a smile on your face, bring back some childhood memories, and will allow your families to spend some quality time together. Enjoy

Notă biografică

Let me introduce myself. My name is Lori Plegge and I live in Little Rock, AR with my husband Cliff. I am a wife, mother, author, photographer, home stager, and a baker. I was born in Little Rock and was adopted at the age of 4 months. I graduated from Newport High School and have lived in Mississippi, Virginia, North Dakota and Minnesota since then. I love to travel and I have visited all of the states except Hawaii, Colorado, and Michigan. I have also been to Mexico and Canada. My hobbies are photography and baking as well as playing the piano. If you would like to see some of my pictures, go to pleggephotography.com. At the age of 21 I had my 1st son, Anthony. At the age of 27 I had my 2nd son, Kevin, and at the age of 29, I had my 3rd and final son, Brett. ¿My life, just like everyone else's, has had it's share of ups and downs. The worst day in my life was March 16, 2007 when I lost my oldest son, Anthony. He was 19 years old. The second was May 24, 2015 when I lost my baby sister, Angie. At the age of 51, 3 days before my 52 birthday, my biological brother found me. I got to meet my family 2 days before my birthday. A day later, they threw me a birthday party I will never forget. To this day, my mother, brothers, sister, niece, great niece and great nephews get along. I also went from a very small adopted family to a very large biological family. Not all adoption families turn out this way. I have been truly blessed to have them as a part of my life. At the age of 48, I married my soulmate, Cliff. Cliff and I met each other in 2nd grade at Gibbs Albright in Newport, AR and have known each other ever since. We never dated in high school but had a crush on each other. In August 2009, Cliff contacted me on Facebook. At the time, I was living in Minnesota. One thing led to another and at the end of September 2009, I moved back to Arkansas to be with him. On August 31, 2013, Cliff and I got married at our favorite spot, Little Red River Rustic Cabins in Oxley, AR. Cliff and I love surprising each other with trips. We don't tell the other person where we are going, just what to pack and for how long. The best surprise I got from him was a chance to ride in a retired NASCAR. We went 180 mph!!!! Talk about an adrenalin rush!!! I think the best surprise I ever gave him was going to Washington State to stay with a dear friend of his. Another thing Cliff and I are doing is learning to overcome our fears. He is no longer afraid of snakes and heights. Me, well the only fear I have is of wasps and I don't think I will ever overcome that fear. ¿Every since I can remember, I have enjoyed writing. At a young age I kept a diary and in High School, I loved writing term papers. I never really thought about becoming an author until my oldest son, Anthony passed away. In the beginning, I just wrote down everything I could remember about his last two weeks on this Earth. I let a few select people read what I had written. One of the people that read it told me I needed to add some pictures of Anthony so people would be able to see what he looked like and get to know him. that's when I realized the best way for people to get to know him would be if I shared his life story with the world. it was then that I wrote my very 1st book, "When Tomorrow Starts Without Me." One thing I have learned is not to settle in life. Enjoy each moment as if it were you last. Tell your loved ones how much you love them and hug them regularly. I am happier today than I have ever been in my life.
