Western Horseman Recipe File: Cowboy-Style Cooking at Its Best

Longtime equine journalist Jennifer Denison, senior editor for Western Horseman, also edits the magazine's Cowboy Style section, which includes ranch recipes and Dutch-oven cooking. An award-winning writer, Denison has co-authored two books, Bringing Up Baby with clinician John Lyons and Backcountry Basics with clinician Mike Kinsey. After 15 years with the magazine staff, including time spent as managing editor, Fran Smith, also an award-winning equine journalist, became Western Horseman's book publishing director. Through the years she has written and co-authored a number of Western Horseman books, including First Horse, Team Roping with Jake and Clay, and Ranch-Horse Versatility, and has been involved in editing Western Horseman books for more than 20 years.
