Notă biografică
Born Albert Jeffrey Houston, in Dallas, Texas, the middle child of Jimmie Jay and Birdie Lee Houston. His father was born October 7, 1928 and laid to rest on September 26, 2001. When asked when did he discover or start writing? the answer doesn't change but it never comes attached to a date or year. So the answer "all of his life" has to suffice. When the question... when did he become serious about writing? He would tell the story of having two distinct types of poetry... some for sharing and the other just for self or personal. And how once at a gathering the stacks got mixed up and after moments of utter shock the response from the readers were life changing. There is no such thing as poetry just for self, or situations to be ashamed of. This life of filled with shared experiences and writing them down is the perfect way to help someone unaware of the possibility helping through problematic trials is available or they may be in need of answers to a situation you wrote as an experience. He believed some of the best writers didn't find writing serious enough or treated it a necessary daily activity until some revelation made them aware it was right there besides breathing and bathing. His morning mantra is: "today I will write the best I know how but tomorrow I am positive my words will be better". He is most excited when working with youth not that he feels he can teach them but more so what he will gain and learn from the experience. There is much simplicity and complexity in one word, exploring the depths of discovery is a humbling endeavor. He writes every day in hopes of getting better. There isn't the possibly of becoming perfect only the accomplishment of learning to be efficient at thinking clearer.
