What on Earth Have We Been Preaching?

Autor Sunny Eronmose Isuekebhor
en Limba Engleză Paperback
I make no excuses or apologies for writing this book, I am not seeking to gain a favor or approval from men or women - "If I yet please men; I should not be the servant of Christ." I employed the word "We" in the title because I am a preacher and I have been since I was a teenager. I began preaching Jesus Christ and Him crucified since I was seventeen, and spurred on by God's grace I have stayed the course. This book is written to preachers and teachers to call us to repent and it is also a call to the hearers to watch out for the false preachers and false teachers among us so that they can refuse to follow them, discontinue following them and help to warn others not to follow them. I have chosen to use only New Testament passages to write this book because the deceivers who misinterpret grace say that the law is from the Old Testament and that those who preach about righteousness and sin and judgment are trying to get people to live under the law when we are under grace in the New Covenant; thus I have used only the Testament of Grace, the New Testament, to show that the Word of God disagrees with this error that is being perpetrated and perpetuated by these men and women who use the grace of God as a background for lasciviousness or to use the exact words employed by the Holy Spirit in the Book of Jude; these people, seek to turn the grace of God into lasciviousness. All the chapters of this book derive their titles from the New Testament Books in chronological order. After these, I introduce a few more chapters to drive home the reasons this book is a must-read for people all over the world. God will not change His mind because some preachers say that He has changed it; neither will He modify His word because some say that the Word needs modification to fit into the modern lusts of the times. There are preachers and teachers who on TV and Radio, in their books or videos, in their churches and at every opportunity, try to portray that preaching about righteousness or sin is out of place because we are under grace and no longer under the law. However, to deliberately refuse to talk about sin and its dangers or to shy away from preaching and teaching about righteousness is absolutely unscriptural and very dangerous; and in this book I show that every book of the New Testament totally disagrees with this very ungodly and unscriptural philosophy. This book is very timely because this trend of steering clear of the rebukes, the warnings, the emphasis on righteousness and the strong highlighting of sin as is plainly seen in the scriptures is sadly growing at an astronomical rate; and another danger is that many of these righteousness or holiness free preachers are famous and known and followed globally. Every New Testament Book deals specifically with the subject of sin and righteousness; and I mean that literally; every Book Can we define grace better than the New Testament does? This book will show that the teachers and preachers and pastors and apostles and evangelists who TOTALLY avoid the subjects of sin and holiness are not preaching from any book in the New Testament. The grand purpose of this book is to draw the line between "You are not under the law but under grace" and "Be ye holy for I AM holy." This book shows that contrary to what many, yes painfully many preachers and teachers all over the world try to portray to their listeners today, there is a strong emphasis on righteousness and sin in every Book of the New Testament. And the first book of the New Testament is the first book of grace because "grace and truth came through Jesus." We begin with Matthew and run through the New Testament at rocket speed. Chapter size is not our emphasis; the passages that deal with holiness as a product of salvation through grace are probably the easiest scriptures to understand in the New Testament. We will highlight the scriptures and give at most one sentence explanation of selected verses and we will be done.
