It is the greatest gift because there is no higher calling than to be charged with the care and feeding of God's sheep and bringing the message of the Gospel of salvation to those who are lost. It is the biggest challenge because the responsibility for the welfare of a person's eternal soul knows no equal and with that responsibility comes a life so filled with unusual situations that few can imagine.
The pastoral profession has come to be one of the most varied occupations there is, one filled with all kinds of interesting stories. I have often cried and many times laughed at where my Lord has taken me. It has been a wild ride and yet lots of fun.
