What to Do to Go to Hell

NOTHING There's absolutely nothing we need to do to go to Hell. "All have sinned....there is none that doeth good....he that believeth not in God's Son] is condemned already" (Romans 3:23,12; John 3:18).

But there is something we must do to go to Heaven. The Bible says, "He that believeth on the Son Jesus Christ] hath everlasting life" (John 3:36).

Hell is no joke. Jesus Himself warns that Hell is "a furnace of fire" where there will be "wailing and gnashing of teeth." It's obviously a real place where one will be just as aware of his surroundings as he was on earth (Matthew 13:42).

The good news is that God doesn't want anyone to spend eternity separated from Him in Hell. That's why He sent His Son to suffer the punishment for our sins: God "spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up on the cross] for us all....not willing that any should perish" (Romans 8:32; 2 Peter 3:9).

You can be sure of a place in Heaven someday if you put your faith in God. You can pray something like this:

Dear God, I know I have sinned and deserve Your punishment. But I thank You for sending Your Son to take my place, then raising Him to life again. I turn from my unbelief and put my trust entirely in Jesus for the forgiveness of my sins and to enable me to live a life that pleases You. Thank You for making it possible for me to know You now and live with You forever in Heaven
