Bud Whitehouse may have failed his way to success. Organic chemistry cut short what was to be a brilliant medical career, causing him ultimately to stumble into headhunting. Following that mercifully short experience, he languished in stints as a corporate recruiter, human resources generalist and manager, organization development consultant, and corporate outplacement consultant. While he enjoyed none of these jobs, Bud learned a great deal from all of them.
