When Prophecies Fail: A Practical Response to the Voice of God

Autor Kirby Clements
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 4 dec 2017
What happens when we receive prophetic promises, decrees or proclamations concerning finances, relationships, occupations, ministries, and physical welfare? We wait in anticipation for their fulfillment, trusting in what we believe is a divine or inspired word. However, when a prophetic word fails to come to pass, we may begin to question the message, the messenger or worse, Divine existence.
In this work, Dr. Clements explores the various reasons for the failure of many end-time predictions and personal prophecies. He sheds light on the relationship between prophecies and personal convictions, beliefs, expectations, and behavior. The section on personal prophecies offers helpful insight on prophetic language and meanings while examining the role of human procrastination, suspicion, desire, and misunderstanding. Ultimately, we come to understand that there is no question about Divine interaction in human affairs; the main issue is one of interpretation.
God's prophecies have never or will ever will fail. In this regard, "When Prophecies Fail" includes guidelines concerning what causes prophecies to be misinterpreted and, in some cases, unsanctioned, deriving from human ambition rather than Divine inspiration.
