Descriere
When the Night Falls is the sequel to the 2020 Flame Tree Press vampire novel, Until Summer Comes Around. Surviving characters Rocky Zukas and November Reilly are still hanging around Old Orchard Beach, Maine. It’s been ten years since the events of the first novel, and while Rocky is among the living trying to find his way, November (the vampire girl he fell for) is lurking in the shadows, stuck in her own cycle of making sure Rocky is okay but keeping her distance as he told her he never wanted to see her again.
A documentary is set to air on network television covering “the Beach Night Killer” Gabriel Reilly (November’s dead, murderous vampire brother). Strange rumors of the serial killer persist.
The documentary becomes national news bringing all past back to Rocky’s doorstep.
It also captures the attention of three vampires on the other side of the country.
Kat, Vincent, and the newest vampire to their company, Fiona, bored and a bit lost in their own lives decide to trek across the country to see if there is any truth to the supernatural rumors of Riley.
They soon discover Rocky and eventually November and uncover the truth about the Beach Night Killer, including how Rocky was responsible for the vampire’s death.
While in town, the trio cannot help themselves from feeding on the end of summer tourists, stirring up more horror as the town is trying to handle all the attention of the documentary.
Relationships within the trio are growing as complicated as that of the one between Rocky and November.
Rocky is taken by the trio and it is up to November to save him.
An abandoned hotel serves as the final battleground for Rocky, November and the trio of out of towners.
The ending is an emotionally explosive, action-packed thrill ride all its own.

Recenzii
"I spent an evening thoroughly gripped and entertained by this tale of vampires and 90s beach towns. It was almost nostalgic. Set in 1996, the music, attitudes and cultural artifact referenced really set the tone."
